Description
The Compliance and Operational Excellence area of the Human Services and Public Health department is seeking two Records Information Specialists to join their team. These positions will process requests to release information to authorized persons and redact information from client files.

Location and hours:
These positions are remote. Remote workers may be required to come on-site an average of 0 to 12 days a year for work meetings, trainings, or for any other reasons that their supervisor may deem necessary (may include additional days for onboarding and new employee training). Supervisors will provide as much advance notice as practicable. Work hours will be Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. While this position is designated as remote, based on current requirements hires must reside in Minnesota or Wisconsin.
New employees who are hired into remote or hybrid positions between January 2, 2022 to December 31, 2024, will receive $500 toward the cost of establishing consistent internet connectivity, payable upon completion of 6 months of employment.

In these positions, you will:
Maintain and release social service records pursuant to data privacy.
Process requests to release private, public, and confidential information to authorized clients, parents, guardians, social workers, attorneys, and others.
Redact information from clients' files as required for proper use and disclosure of protected client information.
Use manual and automated systems to locate, retrieve, and manage client file information.
Prepare documents for internal/external clients.
Need to have:
One of the following:
Two years or more of responsible, paid record management experience.
Completion of approved record management training program.
An approved equivalent combination of education and experience.
Nice to have:
Experience:
Utilizing computer systems and applications such as Social Service Integration System (SSIS), Electronic Case Files (ECF), EPIC, Electronic Medical Records System (EMRS), Minnesota Court Information System (MNCIS), Maxis, and PRISM.
Handling and preparing documents and files that may contain private or sensative information.
Attention to detail and use good judgment.
Ability to:
Organize workload to meet standard timelines set by state statutes, establish and maintain good work relationships.
Use independent judgment and decision-making.
Train and work effectively in a virtual setting.
