Description
The Department of Community Corrections and Rehabilitation's (DOCCR) Adult Correctional Facility is seeking a Corrections Program Manager. The Adult Correctional Facility is a safe, secure, efficient facility that promotes the reduction of re-offense. This medium security correctional facility operates men's, women's, work release, and electronic home monitoring programs. The Corrections Program Manager will be managing the day-to-day operations of the 24-hour facility in accordance with department and division policies and procedures to ensure the safety and security of the residents.

Location and hours:This position is located at the Adult Corrections Facility at 1145 Shenandoah Lane North, Plymouth, MN 55447. There is no public transportation to this facility. Work hours will typically be Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. with flexibility for on-call responsibilities.About the position type:This is a full-time benefit earning position.This position is internally classified as a Corrections Program Manager. In this position, you will:
· Manage facility operations, focused on ensuring safety and security, resident movement, kitchen, storeroom and laundry services, staff development and assisting offenders with reintegration into the community.
· Manage/supervise correctional officers, senior correctional officers, correctional supervisors, corrections institutional supervisors, and security operations.
· Develop and implement facility policy and procedures.
· Participate in the selection process for new hires and promotional opportunities; supervise correctional staff.
· Plan and oversee implementation of Evidence Based Practices in the delivery of services.
· Participate as a member of the Facility Management and Administration teams.
· Ensure adherence to relevant local, state, and licensing standards relevant to an adult correction facility, along with managing quality assurance methods.
· Direct facility staff in the absence of the Superintendent.
· Recognize and respect cultural differences and provide culturally appropriate services.
· Provide leadership to further department-based strategies that align with county goals, mission and core values for diversity, equity & inclusion.
Need to have:
One of the following:
· Eight years or more of professional experience in corrections, at least one year of which must have been in administration or supervision.
· Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, behavioral science or business, correctional or public administration or equivalent and four years or more of professional experience in corrections, one year of which must have been in administration or supervision.
· Master's degree or higher in one of the above cited-fields and three years or more of professional experience in corrections.
Nice to have:
· At least one year of experience working in administration or supervisory level in a correctional institutional setting.
· Experience:
o Providing collaborative services with other justice partners and ability to identify community resources.
o Supervising a team of professional staff working on complex projects.
o Formulating proposals and implementing programs through project planning and management.
o Using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, PeopleSoft, and SharePoint.
· Ability to:
o Assist occasionally during off-duty hours.
o Work within a diverse environment, and with staff and residents from various backgrounds.
· Knowledge of:
o Corrections administration.
o Diversity and inclusion strategies with a focus on disparity reduction.
o Evidence Based Practices for effective correctional programming and experience in assessing and developing effective evidence-based programs.
o Diversity and inclusion strategies with a focus on disparities reduction.
