DescriptionNorthPoint Health and Wellness Center is seeking a Credit Collections Representative to partner with patients, collection agencies, and insurance companies to secure payment for healthcare services provided.Effective January 1, 2023, there will be a general salary adjustment of 2.5% to the minimum and maximum of the salary range. Location and hours: This position will be onsite at the NorthPoint Health and Wellness Center on 2220 Plymouth Ave N, Minneapolis, MN 55411. Work hours will be Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Some Saturday shifts from 8 a.m. - 12 p.m will be required on a rotating basis. Interview patients/clients, family members, employers, governmental units, and/or medical payment programs, in person or by phone; gather/update patient information; complete appropriate forms; determine financial responsibility and/or identify sources of payment for services rendered.
Respond to customer inquiries from incoming calls and correspondence; deliver an explanation of patient account inquiries and resolve issues related to patient accounts.
Work with patients/clients to establish standard payment arrangements or assist in arranging acceptable payment plans.
Review patient/client accounts to verify financial resources and initiate actions to establish payor funding sources and maintain accurate patient/client records.
Maintain and build relationships with payors such as health maintenance organization and collection agencies and with patients who are awaiting coverage from medical assistance or other public programs.
Address patient issues that insure the best long-term and short-term solutions.
Post medical/dental patient account payments and adjustments, process account transactions and resolve billing problems using Epic and Dentrix computerized billing software.
Need to have:
Two or more years of clerical experience involving financial counseling, registration, cash applications, or the obtaining and evaluating of financial or medical billing information.
Nice to have:
With credit collections with delinquent patient accounts for medical, mental health, or dental services.
Using Epic medical and Dentrix dental billing systems or another electronic medical records system.
Working with Minnesota Medicaid or MNsure.
Using Microsoft Office software including Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook.
Interpret and apply procedures and regulations to individual fact situations.
Perform mathematical calculations.
Interact with individuals from socially, economically, and culturally diverse backgrounds.
Knowledge of interviewing principles and practices, insurance principles and programs, and credit collections procedures and regulations.
Strong customer service and written and verbal communication skills.
