KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide leadership and vision for campus development, expansion and maintenance. Shepherd the overall facilities staff, consisting of Custodial Services, Grounds Maintenance, and Building Maintenance departments.
Custodial and Event Ministry Support
The Director of Facilities shall oversee custodial services for all campus locations and provide direction and leadership to local custodial managers/leaders.
Provide oversight and leadership to the custodial managers/leaders regarding evaluation of custodial performance, scheduling and prioritizing of goals, tasks, assignments, and duties.
Perform regular walk-throughs of facilities to maintain a high standard of excellence and address problem areas.
Oversee an ongoing system of training with the custodial manager/leaders in the many facets of the care and keeping of the facilities to ensure that our custodians are up to date with the latest methods of facility care and the use of products.
Oversee the preparation and clean-up of rooms for events by the custodial staff.
Provide required custodial coverage and support for special outreach seasons and large-scale ministry events, including coordinating Men’s, Women’s, and Children’s events, hospitality gatherings, seminars, concerts, and other church-wide/campus wide activities. Work closely with ministry leaders and teams to remove obstacles and boundaries to effective ministry execution.

Facility Maintenance
The Director of Facilities shall provide leadership in the maintenance of all Grace Church facilities and grounds in the following areas: ensuring the heating and cooling systems are adjusted correctly to support ministry needs, setting and maintaining preventive schedules for equipment, and planning for life expectancy and replacement of major equipment.
The Director of Facilities shall plan and oversee snow and ice management as needed, assisting in the work as needed.
The Director of Facilities position requires him/her to be “on the floor”, actively providing management by periodically walking all facilities, assisting and supporting the team as needed.
The Director of Facilities shall oversee the plumbing and electrical needs of all facilities.
The Director of Facilities shall assist the Director of Operations by providing insight on office moves and updates in conjunction with the HR manager.
Maintain current and accurate records for all major equipment. A five/ten-year plan will be prepared and implemented, determining life expectancy and maintenance needs of major equipment. This plan will be developed and maintained in concert with the Sr. Director of Operations and the Sr. Director of Finance and the organizations enterprise wide CapX plan.
The Director of Facilities will coordinate procedures for all security systems at all locations during regularly scheduled and special events (In conjunction with the Public Safety Manager).
Oversee contractual assignments with providers of building services such as HVAC, window cleaning, plumbing and general exterior maintenance, etc. for all Grace locations.
Ensure all building and grounds locations are clean and safe.
Maintain a purchasing system for cleaning and maintenance supplies for all locations.
Meet regularly with vendors, to service all facilities in the most cost-effective manner possible.
Assist the Sr. Director of Operations and the Sr, Director of Finance with all facility renovation project design and implementation.
Vehicles
Have recommended plans for vehicle replacement as needed for all campus locations.
Oversee the prompt repair and regular maintenance of vehicles for church use as needed for all campus locations.
Work with the Assistant to the Sr. Director of Operations to ensure vehicle registration and insurance is current.
Volunteers
The Director of Facilities shall encourage the use of volunteers when and where possible and feasible.
Budget
The Director of Facilities shall develop and manage the annual budgets for all facility management areas (Operational and Capital Planning Budgets) for all locations.
PROFESSIONAL AND SPIRITUAL EXPECTATIONS
Educational requirements: Minimum of 2 years of college in a business or property-related field.
Experience required: 5 years.
Technical Knowledge:
Proficient in space planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
Experience in capital improvement planning and physical plant maintenance.
Familiarity with OSHA regulations, HVAC systems, boiler plant operations, and building automation systems (Tridium programming preferred).
Knowledge of state and national fire codes, construction standards, and applicable building codes.
Experience working with commercial kitchens, permitting processes, and code compliance.
Leadership Experience:
Minimum of 3 years managing a large staff in an ever-changing, dynamic, and fast-paced environment.
Proven ability to lead teams through change and shifting priorities.
Relationship Management:
Strong relationship-building skills, with experience collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Proven ability to work effectively with local and state inspectors.
