The Facility Services department is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Worker to join its dynamic NorthPoint team. This position is responsible for maintaining building grounds and performing maintenance tasks.

Location and hours:This position is located at NorthPoint at 2220 Plymouth Avenue North Minneapolis, MN 55411. Work hours will be 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. The work hours for this position may be extended during weekdays, weekends, and/or holidays to accommodate the needs of the facility.

In this position, you will:
· Perform a variety of semi-skilled and skilled building maintenance duties involved in the repair and maintenance of buildings, facilities, and grounds.
· Perform general duties including painting, carpentry, light plumbing, grounds maintenance, and interior and exterior cleaning of the facilities.
· Maintain and operate a variety of power and hand tools, equipment, and vehicles in a safe and efficient manner.
· Operate and maintain large equipment; maintain driveways and other concrete surfaces (e.g., sweeping, snow removal, etc.); shovel and plow snow in extremely cold temperatures.
· Assist building engineer and contractors.
· Operate and maintain small gas engines/equipment.
· Empty trash containers, collect and dispose of trash from grounds.
Need to have:
· One of the following:
o One year or more of custodial or general mechanical and facilities maintenance experience.
o Completion of the Building Operations Technician Pathway training program.
· A valid driver's license and the ability to obtain a Hennepin County driver's permit.
· Ability to regularly lift up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift up to 100 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
· Ability to work under conditions hazardous to oneself and others; work outdoors in extreme temperatures.
Nice to have:
· Experience:
o Working with, servicing, and repairing snow removal and power equipment.
o Working with customers or clients from a variety of diverse backgrounds.
o Operating motorized snow removal equipment.
o With basic locksmith and door repair duties.
· Knowledge of the use of hand and power tools.
· Basic computer skills.
· Ability to communicate effectively with customer, clients, and co-workers.
· Ability to work as a team member and independently to complete assigned work.
