The Financial Analysis and Accounting area is seeking a Finance and Reporting Administrator. This position will work with various applications to pull reporting for Financial Analysis and Accounting staff and across Human Services Public Health. This position will work closely with monthly forecasting, annual budgeting, Board Action Requests, and financial reporting at all levels. This position will interface with the Applied Analytics team to oversee financial data, staffing information, metrics, and dashboards to ensure accuracy using standardized validation and maintenance protocols, timely updates, and edits as needed.

In this position, you will:
Provide financial expertise in the design and development of reporting products including review and ongoing validation for accuracy.
Work with staff from the service area and Financial Analysis and Accounting (FAA) to hear reporting and information needs, provide drafts of reporting to key stakeholders, and keep the product accurate and timely.
Work closely with the Finance staff on monthly forecasting, annual budget preparation, initiative proformas to provide review and support for reporting out of APEX/Cognos and move the work so reports can populate accurate data using automated procedures.
Perform reporting and upgrading to SQL data, utilizing Access and other databases to provide data for all units in FAA.
Coordinate Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) and quality work related to HSPH Applied Analytics and Revenue Steering Committees.
Oversee financial projects that have departmental wide impact.
Manage policy information for comprehensive financial impact understanding and work with Intergovernmental Relations on policy and legislative strategies.
Need to have:
One of the following:
Nine or more years of experience in general administrative work related to the management of departmental/organizational operations or in a specialty area appropriate to the position.
Bachelor's degree or higher in business administration, accounting, finance, or other field appropriate to the position and five or more years of experience in general administrative work related to the management of departmental/organizational operations or in a specialty area appropriate to the position.
Nice to have:
Three years or more of work experience in accounting and/or finance.
Experience:
Using applications such as PeopleSoft/APEX, Cognos, and Power BI.
Using state applications such as MN-ITS and MMIC to pull data and reporting to meet user needs.
Developing dashboards, financial reporting, and providing data in a comprehensive user-friendly way.
Using customer feedback, survey information, and listening sessions to refine and improve reporting products.
Project management experience collaborating with various business partners who may have differing needs.
