ATTENTION APPLICANTS: This is a temporary unclassified position anticipated to last for 18 months with the possibility to extend up to an additional 18 months.
This position has the flexibility to telework, work a hybrid schedule, or work in the office. If teleworking or working a hybrid schedule, the incumbent will be required to make a telework arrangement with their supervisor.
Our Greenhouse Gas Assessment Program Coordinator leads statewide planning activities for the implementation of the state Greenhouse Gas and Vehicle Miles Traveled Impact Assessment Program. The goal of the GHG assessment is to evaluate emissions impacts from project and program decisions then develop a method for mitigating the impact in Minnesota through multimodal transportation invests and voluntary land use decisions. The responsibilities for this position also include:
· Providing professional planning and management for state greenhouse gas reduction requirements as required by law and vehicle miles traveled in the transportation sector.
· Developing an assessment process for program and project evaluation.
· Leading the development of a legislatively identified requirement for all capacity expansion projects to be assessed for their emissions impacts.
· Leading, facilitating and coordinating the Transportation Impact Assessment Technical Advisory Committee and MnDOT staff to develop an emissions offset process.
· Leading the implementation of the stakeholder engagement process, and convening state agencies, external partners, industries, and stakeholders.
*Occasional in-state travel to meetings is required.

Here are the minimum qualifications:
Three years of advanced professional (MAPE 10L or higher) transportation planning experience that demonstrates the following:
(*NOTE: A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Planning, Geography, Urban Studies, Sociology, or Political Science substitutes for six months of advanced professional experience)
· Experience applying performance-based transportation planning practices and/or energy planning practices.
· Experience leading and facilitating internal and external stakeholder groups.
· Experience researching and analyzing information to identify trends.
