Description The Economic Support service area in HSPHD is seeking individuals who enjoy providing great customer service, working in an innovative new Guaranteed Basic Income pilot and is bilingual in Somali or Spanish to join their team as a Guaranteed Basic Income Customer Service Representatives. It will be important that applicants have proven work experience in multi-tasking, paying attention to details while recognizing priorities, and meeting established deadlines, all while being flexible and providing excellent service to Hennepin County residents. Applicants should enjoy and also be able to work independently, and successfully coordinate the completion of shared responsibilities with minimal supervision with their team or business partners. Location and hours: These positions are hybrid and will be performed both on-site at one or more Hennepin County Human Services Center location and remote as job duties require. Typical work hours are flexible and will be Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Hours worked per week will vary based on business need and evening and weekend hours are available if desired by the employee and if supported by business need. While this position is designated as hybrid, based on current requirements, hires must reside in Minnesota or Wisconsin. New employees who are hired into remote or hybrid positions between January 2, 2022 to December 31, 2024, will receive $500 toward the cost of establishing consistent internet connectivity, payable upon completion of 6 months of employment. Click here to view the job classification specification. In these positions, you will:
Manage prospective pilot participant progress from expression of interest through consent and orientation and utilize automated tools to generate standardized communications; follow scripts for research purposes.
Utilize automated tools to generate standardized benefits overviews, schedule, and appointments.
Conduct pilot orientation sessions one on one or with groups, by telephone or in person.
Provide excellent customer service while responding to questions via phone, chat, and email from participants and prospective participants.
Review and complete documents in electronic data storage system.
Work collaboratively with peer group, supervisor, and others to improve processes.
Track work by entering, retrieving, and modifying data in various county and state databases and data sharing systems.
Assist with other duties as assigned.
Need to have:
One of the following:
One year or more of office clerical experience and completion of the Human Services Pathway Training program.
18 months or more of office clerical experience and completion of the Office Specialist Pathway Training program.
Two years or more of full-time office clerical experience.
Completion of two years or more of post-high school education.
Ability to communicate fluently in Somali or Spanish in addition to English, both verbally and in writing.
Access to reliable transportation to travel among Hennepin County office buildings.

Providing trainings or orientations in-person or virtually.
Collecting and tracking data, using electronic databases.
Utilizing Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, Teams, and Word).
Providing service in a culturally diverse area and communicating with a diverse group of residents and coworkers.
Simultaneously watching/monitoring multiple systems, tasks, and operations.
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to conduct oneself professionally and handle sensitive/difficult issues in a tactful manner.
Ability to:
Recognize and respect cultural differences and provide culturally appropriate services.
Serve and support customers using various communication methods, while giving clear and concise information and/or direction.
Deal with ambiguous situations, multi-tasking, independently troubleshooting routine issues, using critical thinking problem solving skills.
