Our client, a highly successful business with a faith-based culture, is seeking a Technical Sales Representative that will qualify leads, provide technical solutions, and generate sales quotes. This industrial equipment organization has transformed the sales function from an in-person lead generation business to a digital platform that generates significant in-bound leads.
Major Job Functions
1. New Business/Account Management (external) – 60%
Qualify new web, phone, trade show and other leads and inquiries (no cold calling necessary), determine prospect requirements, and conduct intake qualification
Develop strong business relationships with decision makers and buyers at the assigned customers.
Function as a single point of contact for customers.
Articulate technical features and benefits of our products to our customers.
Effectively offer product alternatives to best meet customer requirements.
Follow up on quotations and proposals consistently.
Work as a member of a collaborative sales team to support sales efforts of others.
Support sales email workload and respond as needed on support role tasks: project timeline management, customer service response, etc.
2. Sales Operations – (internal) – 40%
Accurately process customer data such as price quotes and purchase orders.
Interface effectively with vendors on quotes, specs, etc.
Maintain technical knowledge of company products, competitive advantages, and industry.
Seek continuous improvement in sales, technical skills, and industry knowledge.
Collaborate and support other team members.
Enter new opportunities and update related information in HubSpot.
Critical Selection Criteria
Technical Sales experience.
Mechanical aptitude.
High attention to detail.
Ability to manage to a documented sales process.
Collaborative. Team oriented.
