The IT Information Security division is seeking a student to participate in a part-time IT internship as an Identity and Access Management Analyst (IAM) intern. The intern will learn and implement best practices in access control, principle of least privilege, entitlement management, and more, in a hands-on internship supporting the IAM team. This position requires a level 3 security check as a requirement for employment Current Hennepin County employees who refer a candidate hired into an open competitive position may be eligible for a $500 referral bonus. For more information visit employee referral program Location and hours: This position is remote. Remote workers may be required to come on-site an average of 0 to 12 days a year for work meetings, trainings, or for any other reasons that their supervisor may deem necessary (may include additional days for onboarding and new employee training). Supervisors will provide as much advance notice as practicable. Work hours are Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 pm. This internship will start May 30th, 2023, and will last one year with the potential to extend on a case-by-case basis. This intern will work approximately 20 hours/week. While this position is designated as remote, based on current requirements hires must reside in Minnesota or Wisconsin. New employees who are hired into remote or hybrid positions between January 2, 2022 to December 31, 2024, will receive $500 toward the cost of establishing consistent internet connectivity, payable after the new employee successfully completes probation. In this position, you will:
· Learn and support identity lifecycle management processes.
· Manage and assign incoming communications and tasks for the Identity and Access Management (IAM) team.
· Support Identity and Access Management projects.
· Request and manage access to state systems.
· Conduct access reviews.
· Work with business to review and document entitlements.
Need to have:
· Current enrollment or recent graduate (within 6 months) in an IT certificate program, associate, bachelor's or master's degree program in IT or a related field.
Nice to have:
· Experience with:
o Microsoft Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams) or equivalent Google Products (Docs, Sheet, Slides, Gmail, Hangout).
o Coordinating, directing and leading projects.
· Strong communication (written and oral) and organizational skills.
· Some coursework dealing with IT or IT Security
