Description
Resident Services IT (RSIT) is seeking an IT Operations Analyst I to join our team. This position will provide a blend of business, technical, and operational support. It will include analysis, technical writing, supporting operations, technical troubleshooting, and creating and maintaining business solutions for internal customers, primarily in the Land Information & Tax Services (LITS) department. As an IT Operations Analyst I, you will work with a variety of IT and business stakeholders and internal customers. This role is perfect for an innovative individual with strong writing skills, a desire to troubleshoot technical issues, and an interest in developing solutions. You will learn business processes, perform business and gap analysis, and gain valuable experience coordinating and collaborating on technical projects with mentor guidance. Excellent interpersonal communication, customer service skills, and a collaborative spirit are essential for success in this position. Additionally, this position requires partnership with a variety of IT and business stakeholders/partners and requires someone who has intermediate IT knowledge, good interpersonal skills, and the ability to learn new skills quickly. Location and hours: This position is remote. Remote workers may be required to come on-site 0 to 12 days a year for work meetings, trainings, or for any other reasons that their supervisor may deem necessary (may include additional days for onboarding and new employee training). Supervisors will provide as much advance notice as practicable. Work hours will be Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Based on business needs of this position, hires must live in or relocate to Minnesota. New Employee Orientation (NEO) for all new benefit-earning employees is in-person in downtown Minneapolis. Details about NEO will be provided upon hire.

This is a full-time, benefit earning position. This position is internally classified as an Information Technology (IT) Analyst Level I - Technical Analyst. At this time, employees may be eligible to receive an additional cash merit of up to $1,702.26 that can be earned annually based on performance.

In this position, you will:
· Document operational and technical specifications and requirements that supports development, testing, deployment, and system maintenance of new technologies and applications.
· Use technical writing skills to effectively communicate verbal and written operational and technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
· Respond to and assist in the delivery of solutions for business partners and end-user requests for hardware/software, other technical, and administrative needs.
· Develop business and technical analysis artifacts, including business cases, business requirements documentation, technical requirements, use cases, process modeling, entity relationship diagrams, and data flow diagrams.
· Identify and define business needs and work with leaders to identify technical solutions and advocate for investments to improve business practices.
· Provide analytical support for system maintenance and support.
Need to have:
· One of the following:
o Two years or more of experience in information technology.
o Completion of approved IT Hennepin County internship.
o Completion of five college/vocational technical technology courses.
o Associate's/vocational/technical degree in computer science, management information systems (MIS), information technology or an approved information technology field related to the position.
Nice to have:
· Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) certificate, Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL), Agile, Scrum master, Structured Query Language (SQL), database, coding languages, technical writer/communicator and/or another related business analyst certification.
· Microsoft Certified Power Platform Fundamentals and/or other related application maker certification.
· Experience:
o Supporting business applications, software, and/or hardware by troubleshooting problems.
o Creating innovative Information Technology solutions.
o With business and technical process analysis, such as identifying gaps, bottlenecks, and improving efficiency.
o Working with data dashboarding and visualization platforms.
· Knowledge of:
o System development methodology.
o IT systems and IT industry frameworks (IT Service Management, Agile, Dev Ops).
o Software Development Life Cycle.
o Application development principles and process; basic knowledge of infrastructure and platforms.
· Ability to:
o Analyze and resolve complex problems with computer operations or applications.
o Organize and plan work effectively.
o Work independently and in a team environment.
o Learn and apply software and hardware troubleshooting techniques.
o Develop, read, and comprehend technical materials.
