Description
The Information Technology (IT) Department is seeking to fill an Office Specialist II vacancy. This data driven position will join the Imaging Operations unit and prepare documents for scanning, indexing, and entering numeric data into computerized databases.
Effective January 1, 2023, there will be a general salary adjustment of 2.5% to the minimum and maximum of the range.
Location and hours: This position will be on-site at the Hennepin County Government Center on 300 South 6th Street, Minneapolis, MN 55487. Candidates must be able to work at other locations around the county as needed for training, meetings, and coverage purposes. After training concludes, this position will be hybrid and performed both on-site and remote as job duties require. Work hours will be Monday through Friday, 8 am to 4:30 pm with some flexibility. While this position is designated as hybrid, based on current requirements hires must reside in Minnesota or Wisconsin.
New employees who are hired into remote or hybrid positions between January 2, 2022 to December 31, 2024, will receive $500 toward the cost of establishing consistent internet connectivity, payable upon completion of 6 months of employment.

In this position, you will:
· Prepare, scan, and validate a large volume of documents.
· Enter metadata and scan documents using customized software.
· Learn and navigate multiple source systems.
· Identify documents for different lines of business.
· File batches of documents and destroy batches that have met retention guidelines.
Need to have:
· One of the following:
o 18 months or more of office clerical experience.
o 18 months of related post-high school education.
o Completion of the Office Specialist Pathway Training program and one year or more of office clerical experience.
o Completion of the Healthcare Clerical Pathway Training program and six months or more of office clerical experience.
o Note: Education may be substituted for experience on a month for month (3 semester credits = 1 month) basis.
· Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time.
· Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Nice to have:
· Experience:
o Working with programs and applications such as FileNet, Kofax, Microsoft Office Suite, and State of Minnesota's MAXIS.
o Entering numerical data into a computer using a 10-key keypad.
o Performing electronic scanning and imaging in order to convert paper files to electronic case files.
o Using software to index documents.
o Performing records management functions, such as searching, filing, locating, and creating files.
· Ability to:
o Work independently and as part of a team.
o Manage and prioritize time.
o Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
o Possess organizational and detail-oriented skills.
