The Long Term Services & Support (LTSS) area in the Health and Human Services department is seeking to fill two Office Specialist III positions. We are looking for individuals who enjoy working with the public, have strong communication skills and a desire to help others while serving the community. Interested candidates will need to be able to handle a high-level of demanding situations, while engaging in continuous client interaction.
Location and hours:
These positions are remote. Remote workers may be required to come on-site 0 to 12 days a year for work meetings, trainings, or for any other reasons that their supervisor may deem necessary (may include additional days for onboarding and new employee training). Supervisors will provide as much advance notice as practicable. Work hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Based on business needs of this position, hires must live in or relocate to Minnesota.
In these positions, you will:
Manage incoming requests in person, over the phone, or electronically and explain a variety of requirements, policies, and procedures regarding services and resolve various customer concerns and issues.
Process work for long term care and development disability annual assessments for 70 - 80 assessors.
Monitor the regional inbox and respond to work requests from assessors, supervisors, Contracted Case Management Coordination (CCMC) and LTSS partners.
Maintain detailed and organized calendars in Outlook
Open and close workgroups, assign and re-assign workers, and send out letters and documents to providers and clients.
Input, retrieve, interpret, and modify information and data stored in computerized systems including: Social Services Information System (SSIS), electronic case filing (ECF), MnCHOICES, and all Microsoft Office programs.
Attend staff meetings, service area meetings, trainings and one on one meetings.
Need to have:
One of the following:
Two years or more of full-time office clerical experience.
Completion of two years or more of post-high school education.
18 months or more of office clerical experience and completion of the Office Specialist Pathway Training program.
One year or more of office clerical experience and completion of the Human Services Pathway Training Program.
A valid driver's license and daily access to reliable transportation to attend meetings and travel to support service areas throughout Hennepin County.

Using databases and computerized systems such as SSIS, ECF, and MnCHOICES to perform data entry where accuracy is essential.
Monitoring multiple systems, tasks, and operations.
Utilizing Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, and Word).

Handle multiple problems and assignments simultaneously, and to work independently with minimal direction.
