The service area of Child Support within Health & Human Services is seeking an Office Specialist III. This position would be part of a clerical team that provides administrative support to 198 Child Support staff (Child Support officers, supervisors, and managers). The nature of work performed by the Office Specialist III would be related to the creation, printing, and mailing of critical documents to clients, employers and/or other jurisdictions.
Location and hours:
This position is on-site at the Northwest Suburban Human Service Center located at 7051 Brooklyn Blvd, Brooklyn Center, MN 55429. Work hours for this position are Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

In this position, you will:
Answer general information calls for the child support area; interact with customers over the telephone, electronically, or in person to assist with a broad range of requests for information; explain a variety of requirements, policies, and procedures regarding services; direct various customer concerns and issues regarding service and policies.
Receipt cash payments and process deposits to the bank.
Input, retrieve, export, and modify information and data stored in computerized systems and generate reports and assist users with problems associated with computers, computer systems, and programs.
Record and update information (including complex financial data) in a variety of formats.
Assist with ad hoc projects and requests from remote staff.
Ensure child support payments are receipted/deposited and create packets to solicit information to determine if cases meet financial criteria.
Process child support applications and other incoming mail that is not appropriate for imaging.
Troubleshoot solutions for issues/workload needs.
Need to have:
One of the following:
Two years or more of office clerical experience.
Two years or more of related post-high school education.
18 months or more of office clerical experience and completion of the Office Specialist Pathway Training program.
One year or more of office clerical experience and completion of the Human Services Pathway Training Program.
Ability to lift and transport office materials weighing up to 25 pounds with or without a reasonable accommodation.
