The Long Term Services & Support (LTSS) area in the Health and Human Services department is seeking to fill multiple Office Specialist III positions. We are looking for individuals who enjoy working with the public, have strong communication skills and a desire to help others while serving the community. Interested candidates will need to be able to handle a high-level of demanding situations, while engaging in continuous client interaction.
In these positions, you will:
Process work for Long Term Care and Developmental Disability assessments for 70 - 80 assessors.
Manage incoming requests in person, over the phone, or electronically and explain a variety of requirements, policies, procedures regarding services, and resolve various customer concerns and issues.
Monitor the assigned inbox and respond to work requests from assessors, supervisors, and Contracted Case Management Coordination (CCMC) and LTSS partners.
Maintain detailed and organized calendars in Microsoft Outlook.
Open and close workgroups, assign and re-assign workers, and send out letters and documents to providers and customers.
Input, retrieve, interpret, and modify information stored in computerized systems including: Social Service Information Systems (SSIS), Electronic Case Files (ECF), MnCHOICES and all Microsoft Office programs.
Need to have:
One of the following:
Two years or more of office clerical experience.
Two years or more of related post-high school education.
18 months or more of office clerical experience and completion of the Office Specialist Pathway Training program.
One year or more of office clerical experience and completion of the Human Services Pathway Training Program.

Experience:
Using databases and computerized systems such as SSIS, ECF, and MnCHOICES to performing data entry where accuracy is essential.
Providing customer service via phone, on-line and/or in person.
Working with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Outlook, Teams & Word).
Strong planning, prioritization, and organizational skills.
Attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy.
Ability to:
Serve and support customers using various communication methods, while giving clear and concise information and/or direction.
Work with external and internal customers professionally and with tact and discretion.
Take initiative in solving problems, use sound judgment when approaching problems; read and follow complex instructions.
Recognize and respect cultural differences and provide culturally appropriate services.
Handle multiple problems and assignments simultaneously, work independently with minimal direction, and work well under pressure.
