GENERAL SUMMARY
This Paralegal position will provide legal support to the Insurance Division of Stratacor, which includes Delta Dental of Minnesota, Delta Dental of Nebraska, DDMN ASO, LLC, and Health Ventures Network. This position also is expected to provide paralegal support to one or more additional business entities within the Stratacor organization, as assigned.
A paralegal's primary focus is on providing support services for dental and other ancillary insurance product lines and insurance business operations. Responsibilities will also include assistance in corporate governance, contract preparation, and document management related to providing legal support for all Stratacor entities and affiliates.
This position will be hired by Abōva Talent, LLC, a Stratacor business entity.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Serve as support to other legal team members in managing a steady volume of legal inquiries and external requests and notices relating to legal matters arising from the Insurance Division's Customer Contact Center, including but not limited to, subrogation inquiries, powers of attorney, guardianship, and child custody orders, authorizations to release information, and subpoenas. Identify and collect information and data required to support the sufficient review and analysis of these legal inquiries and external requests. Assist in the preparation of appropriate responses as directed by your manager.
Provide assistance to legal department team members to create, prepare, review, proof, edit and/or manage legal documents, including but not limited to, non-disclosure agreements, independent contractor agreements, consulting agreements, master service agreements and statement of works, vendor agreements, requests for proposals, corporate records, correspondence, reports, and presentations.
Provide assistance to the Chief Legal Officer on the administration of Corporate Governance records, and in the performance of duties as Assistant Secretary as assigned.
Provide document management for Legal Department matters, including document organization and review, maintenance of correspondence and filing, coordination of document distributions, and communication with attorneys (internal and external), regulators, internal clients, and vendors.
Understand concepts of dental and other product offering coverages, policy interpretation, and claims adjudication to analyze and move complaints toward resolutions.
Create, prepare, review, proof, edit and/or manage legal documents related to the support services performed.
Provide other organizational, administrative and legal assistance with regard to Legal Department activities as directed.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of legal terminology and principles.
Some familiarity with, or willingness to learn, federal and state laws and regulatory standards related to insurance, healthcare, privacy, and security.
Ability to properly manage and protect confidential and sensitive information.
Excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and projects while working under deadlines.
Self-starter with a sense of urgency, ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive customer-service-oriented environment, ability to handle unanticipated situations effectively and work well under pressure with tight deadlines to ensure a timely and appropriate response to issues raised.
Excellent execution and organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent judgment and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive business information.
Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to effectively interact with team members at all levels of an organization.
Strong written and verbal communications skills to articulate complex business and legal situations clearly and accurately.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
Ability to be flexible and willing to work on a broad variety of legal matters.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree. (Paralegal degree or designation a plus)
3-5 years of paralegal experience
Insurance and/or Health Care experience helpful
