You'll assist with the daily operations and customer service of the pharmacy, as directed by the Pharmacists and allowed by law. Our pharmacy fills prescriptions ordered only through NorthPoint Health & Wellness Center providers.
Location and hours:
This position will be located at the NorthPoint Health & Wellness Center at 2220 Plymouth Ave North, Minneapolis, Minnesota 55411. This is a part-time position working a minimum of 20 hours per week. Work hours are negotiable but will be weekdays, sometime between 8:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., and rotating Saturdays every three weeks from 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Based on current requirements hire must live in or relocate to Minnesota or Wisconsin.
This position is subject to the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Interim Final Rule on COVID-19 Health Care Staff Vaccination. As such, it requires the job offer to be conditional based on the candidate being fully vaccinated for COVID-19. “Fully vaccinated” means 14 days after receiving the second dose in a two-dose vaccination series approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on a full or emergency-use basis, or 14 days after receiving a single-dose vaccine approved by the FDA on a full or emergency-use basis. After a conditional job offer is made, the candidate must show proof of full vaccination prior to their start date. A COVID-19 vaccination card from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), a vaccination record from your doctor’s office or a personal digital vaccination record constitutes sufficient “proof.” The candidate must also attest they are vaccinated by completing a form on the first day of employment. In this position, you will:
Perform activities related to the preparation and dispensing of drugs and other pharmaceutical supplies to patients under the supervision of pharmacists.
Distribute medications or documents to patients and resolve customer pharmacy-related issues at pharmacy point-of-sale windows.
Assist with distribution of stock medications, over-the-counter products, and other supplies to clinic staff.
Comply with all applicable federal, Hennepin County, and NorthPoint Health & Wellness Center policies, procedures, and patient care standards.
Develop technical knowledge and competency of products/services provided by the pharmacy in order to provide information and assist patients and clinic staff.
Participate in trainings, educational and professional programs and/or review professional literature on an ongoing basis to maintain pharmacy knowledge, competency, and certification.
Need to have:
One of the following:
Graduation from a pharmacy technician training program.
One year or more of experience in a pharmacy technology or health care related position.
A valid pharmacy technician registration in the state of Minnesota.
