Description
Hennepin County's Purchasing and Contract Services division is seeking a Procurement Assistant. This position will be responsible for processing contracts, contract renewals, and work in partnership with internal and external customers regarding the administration of county contracts.

Location and hours: This position is remote. Remote workers may be required to come on-site an average of 0 to 12 days a year for work meetings, trainings, or for any other reasons that their supervisor may deem necessary (may include additional days for onboarding and new employee training). Supervisors will provide as much advance notice as practicable. Work hours will be Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with some flexibility. Based on business needs of this position, hires must live in or relocate to Minnesota.
New employees who are hired into remote or hybrid positions between January 2, 2022 to December 31, 2024, will receive $500 toward the cost of establishing consistent internet connectivity, payable upon completion of 6 months of employment.

In this position, you will:
· Provide administrative support for county contracts, updating PeopleSoft with vendor information, contract amounts, and dates.
· Communicate via email and by telephone with internal and external customers regarding the administration of county contracts.
· Process, verify, organize, file, and prepare reports pertaining to contracts and contract related documents.
· Assist internal and external customers with filling out contract related forms and utilizing contract related systems such as PeopleSoft and the supplier portal.
· Create specialized correspondence, lists, reports, and other standard office documents; develop forms and assist with revisions; plan and coordinate specific departmental projects and activities.
Need to have:
· One of the following:
o Three years or more of office clerical experience.
o Three years or more of post-high school education.
o 30 months or more of office clerical experience and completion of the Office Specialist Pathway Training program.
Nice to have:
· Experience:
o Entering and/or viewing data records using PeopleSoft or other electronic databases.
o Creating specialized correspondence, lists, reports, and other standard office documents.
o Developing and revising forms.
o Answering a variety of customer questions via email and by telephone.
· Ability to:
o Provide exceptional customer service to vendors and staff.
o Work collaboratively as part of a team and with a diverse group of people.
o Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
· Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite applications in a work setting.
