Description
Hennepin County's Law, Safety, and Justice department is looking for a Quality Assurance Analyst (Technical Analyst II) to join our team. As a member, you'll partner with public safety businesses and IT partners to create innovative data sharing and business process solutions. Your role involves testing software in a team environment, communicating software specifications, and developing formal test plans to identify bugs and improve training tools. Location and hours:
This position is hybrid and will be performed both on-site at the 625 Building, 625 4th Avenue South, Minneapolis, MN 55415, and remote as job duties require. Work hours will typically be Monday through Friday, during core business hours of 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with the ability to work extended hours as needed. While this position is designated as hybrid, based on current requirements hires must reside in or relocate to Minnesota or Wisconsin. New Employee Orientation (NEO) for all new benefit-earning employees is in-person in downtown Minneapolis. Details about NEO will be provided upon hire.

In this position, you will:
• Work directly with the Hennepin Justice Integration Program (HJIP) IT Development team and collaborate with the HJIP IT Operations team.
• Maintain systems within HJIP and provide documentation of the updates.
• Establish effective working relationships with other information technology staff and users.
• Develop effective test plans to existing and new applications.
• Analyze and resolve complex software testing requirements.
• Be able to contribute to a development team with constructive test information and reporting.
• Document of all software testing results and repeatable test plans for projects.
• Understand cloud solutions where appropriate and provide criteria for testing.
Need to have:
One of the following:
• Five years or more of information technology experience.
• Completion of approved Hennepin County IT internship and three years or more of IT experience.
• Completion of five college/vocational/technical information technology courses and three years or more of IT experience.
• Associate's/vocational/technical degree in a field listed below and three years or more of IT experience.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, management information systems (MIS), information technology or an approved information technology field related to the position and one year or more IT experience.
Nice to have:
• Experience:
o Performing incident management, problem management, and root cause analysis.
o Working on the development and implementation of major integration-related projects.
o Working in an agile team or agile framework.
o Creating test plans and using test driven development concepts.
o With SQL in the context of testing, quality assurance/control, or data analysis.
• Knowledge of:
o Software development lifecycle.
o Agile framework and ceremonies.
o CJIS compliance policies.
• Ability to:
o Build trustworthy relationships and promote collaboration.
o Use organization skills and perform with attention to detail.
o Understand Hennepin County IT best practices
o Write and use automated testing tools /languages.
