Description
Hennepin County’s Office of Broadband & Digital Inclusion (OBDI) is hiring an Intermediate Administrative Assistant. This is a new position to support our office’s logistics, initiatives and the management of our internal and external coalitions. This posting seeks a motivated, hands-on resource help ensure the success of our office’s public programs, including digital navigation, intergovernmental advocacy, communications, broadband infrastructure, apartment Wi-Fi installations, and to provide support to the departmental leadership team.Effective December 31, 2023, there will be a general salary adjustment of 2.5% to the minimum and maximum of the range. Current Hennepin County employees who refer a candidate hired into an open competitive position may be eligible for a $500 referral bonus. For more information visit employee referral program. Location and hours:This position is hybrid and will be performed both on-site at several Hennepin County buildings and remote as job duties require. Work hours will be Monday through Friday, between 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. and are subject to change based on business need. While this position is designated as hybrid, based on current requirements hires must reside in or relocate to Minnesota or Wisconsin. New employees who are hired into remote or hybrid positions between January 2, 2022, to December 31, 2024, will receive $500 toward the cost of establishing consistent internet connectivity, payable upon completion of 6 months of employment.

In this position you will:
· Manage ad-hoc assignments of medium-term duration, such as vendor procurement, logistics, and project coordination with vendors or other county departments.
· Validate the work done by vendors and consultants, documenting whether given specifications were adequately followed, and follow up with any needed remediation or escalation.
· Administer consultant contracts and monitor consultant performance related to project development and implementation.
· Manage the procurement, movement and distribution of resident technology and software packages, marketing materials and collateral and other physical goods and supplies.
· Support the board action request, budget, RFP, and contract processes for the department.
· Coordinate departmental logistics and communications, including SharePoint site and external websites, serving as the primary Site Owner, drafting content, submitting tickets to IT, ODX, and Communications departments; and following-up and managing their work to completion.
· Coordinate deliverables for special projects for OBDI programming.
Need to have:
· One of the following:
o Six years or more of experience in general administrative work relating to the management of departmental/organizational operations or in a specialty area appropriate to the position.
o Bachelor's degree or higher in public administration, business administration, or other field appropriate to the position and two years or more of experience in general administrative work relating to the management of departmental/organizational operations or in a specialty area appropriate to the position.

o Advancing equity and reducing disparities in the community.
o Working with technology or broadband companies, or other experience tracking vendor accountabilities.
o Working in the multifamily housing space.
o Building community connections with a wide variety of organizations to collaborate, develop, and deliver programs or services.
o With managing and/or leading multiple projects.
o Using SharePoint.
· Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with municipal, county staff, and the general public.
