Description
The Behavioral Health (BH) area of Hennepin County is seeking an Area Manager that will oversee operations and contracts for programs serving children and families living with mental illness and related behavioral conditions. This position will lead the majority of strategic and operational decisions associated with the Children’s Mental Health teams. You will also be responsible for co-creating area-wide strategic initiatives, goals, objectives, and outcomes to advance the mission and vision of the area more broadly. This position will be responsible for county-wide collaboration with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure adherence to best practices with a focus on reducing disparities.

Location and hours:This position is hybrid and will be performed both at a department building and remote as job duties require. Work hours are primarily days, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. While this position is designated as hybrid, based on current requirements hires must reside in or relocate to Minnesota or Wisconsin. New employees who are hired into remote or hybrid positions between January 2, 2022, to December 31, 2024, will receive $500 toward the cost of establishing consistent internet connectivity, payable upon completion of 6 months of employment.

In this position you will:
· Drive disparity reduction, revenue maximization, continuous quality improvement, and upstream interventions by ensuring strategies, policies, and procedures are in place for both operated and contracted programming.
· Drive strategic priorities, lead strategic discussions, and lead and scope large scale initiatives such as System of Care and School Based Mental Health to meet organizational needs and to ensure resources are maximized across initiatives for maximum return on investment.
· Develop budgets and allocate resources to ensure revenue maximization, disparity reduction, and fiscal responsibility.
· Lead staff through transformational and cultural shifts required to implement service delivery changes to reduce deep end involvement and disparities for residents.
· Guide area-wide integration of best practices such as adoption of the racial equity impact tool, continuous quality improvement, outcomes by race for all programs, data-based decision making, and person-centered practices.
· Ensure area initiatives align with department priorities and vision; collaborate with enterprise-wide leadership to strengthen contracting, disparity reduction, data analytics, continuous quality improvement, and community engagement practices to deliver the highest public value to residents.
· Select, train, coach, and evaluate managers and area leadership to elevate their skillsets and track progress toward measurable goals to enhance skills and abilities to build Children’s Mental Health into a stronger service array for our residents.
Need to have:
· One of the following:
o Eight years or more of supervisory experience in an area related to the position, at least two years at the program level or equivalent.
o Bachelor's degree in behavioral/social science, business administration, nursing, public administration, public health, or related field, and four years or more of supervisory experience in an area related to the position, at least two years at the program level or equivalent.
o Master's degree or higher in one of the above fields and three years or more of supervisory experience in an area related to the position, at least one year at the program level or equivalent.

· Ability to:
