Description
Hennepin County's Information Technology (IT) department is seeking a Senior IT Server Administrator to join their Server and Domain Services team. This position is responsible for administering the Windows Server infrastructure and a variety of domains in a multi-domain, network-segmented environment in addition to providing subject matter expertise for application owners regarding best practices and organizational standards.

Location and hours:
This position is remote. Remote workers may be required to come on-site an average of 0 to 12 days a year for work meetings, trainings, or for any other reasons that their supervisor may deem necessary (may include additional days for onboarding and new employee training). Supervisors will provide as much advance notice as possible. Work hours are Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. - 5 p.m. This position requires participation in an on-call rotation.
While this position is designated as remote, based on current requirements hires must reside in Minnesota or Wisconsin.
New employees who are hired into remote or hybrid positions between January 2, 2022 to December 31, 2024, will receive $500 toward the cost of establishing consistent internet connectivity, payable upon completion of 6 months of employment.

At this time, employees may be eligible to receive an additional cash merit of up to $2383.98 that can be earned annually based on performance.
In this position, you will:
· Work effectively within a team environment contributing to multiple efforts and prioritizing work based on organizational initiatives.
· Participate in and foster cross-team collaboration to ensure the availability and stability of enterprise solutions.
· Provide support for the Windows Server platform and surrounding technologies. This includes ADDS, AD Sites and Services, DNS, and Infoblox Administration.
· Administer the applications that enable the county to provide a fleet printing environment and provide guidance to the analysts that support the processes around them. These applications include Papercut, Toshiba Gateway, Windows Print Servers, and FM Audit.
· Administer RightFax and provide guidance to the analysts that support the product.
Need to have:
· One of the following:
o Seven years or more of information technology experience.
o Associate's/vocational/technical degree in an information technology field and five years or more of information technology experience.
o Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science/engineering, or a related information technology field and three years or more of IT administration or IT database administration experience.
Nice to have:
· Current certification in a leading professional level certification area (e.g., Microsoft, Cisco, CompTIA, Infoblox Core DDI, etc.).
· Expertise working in a complex multi-domain environment with a least privileged approach to security supporting Active Directory, Windows Server, and Enterprise Applications.
· Experience with:
o Virtualization and VMWare.
o Enterprise print and fax applications.
o DFS Files Shares, Windows Clustering, Certificate Services, and PowerShell.
· Knowledge of On Premise and Cloud Networking Concepts.
· Ability to:
o Work independently and effectively under minimal supervision; adapt to changing priorities, demands, and timelines.
o Lead teams and establish and maintain effective working relationships within all levels of the organization.
o Work within a multi-disciplinary and diverse team environment assuring customer satisfaction and technical excellence.
o Apply knowledge and experience to a wide variety of technologies and circumstances.
