The Administrative Services area in Human Services and Public Health (HSPH) is responsible for the operation of a centralized and shared office support staff resource pool through the management of its Support Staff Services unit. The Support Staff Services unit seeks to fill multiple Office Specialist positions assigned to provide a variety of clerical, administrative, and office services to multiple Hennepin County Human Service Centers.
Location and hours:
These positions are in person at our 4 of our Hennepin County Human Service Centers. Work hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Based on business needs of this position, hires must be located in or be willing to relocate to Wisconsin or Minnesota.
In these positions, you will:
Meet and greet clients and assess their needs.
Direct clients to appropriate services.
Process and/or update data in the various State and Hennepin County systems (MAXIS).
Assign cases to the appropriate team using Microsoft Access and Q-Flow.
Attend and participate in monthly staff meetings.
Update and assemble procedure manuals.
Maintain inventory and order office supplies, forms, and packets as needed.
Assist with coverage as assigned at the various Human Service Centers/Satellite offices located in Brooklyn Center, North Minneapolis, Downtown Minneapolis, South Minneapolis, Hopkins and Bloomington.
Cross-train on multiple tasks within the service area and HSPHD.
Schedule meetings and check calendar availability for meetings using Microsoft Outlook.
Need to have:
One of the following:
Two years or more of full-time office clerical experience.
Completion of two years or more of post-high school education.
18 months or more of office clerical experience and completion of the Pathway programs | Hennepin County Careers (neogov.com).
One year or more of office clerical experience and completion of the Human Services Pathway Training Program.
A valid driver's license and daily access to reliable transportation to attend meetings and travel to support service areas throughout Hennepin County.
