The Medical Examiner's Office is seeking an Office Specialist III who will become part of the Business Office team and support the business operations of the Medical Examiner. This position requires flexibility, strong decision-making and organizational skills, ability to prioritize, and the ability to work independently as well as within a team environment.

This position is on-site at the Medical Examiner Office at 14250 County Road 62, Minnetonka, MN. Vehicle transportation will be required to report to the Minnetonka location due to lack of accessible public transit and a primary work schedule will be determined at the time of hire. Core business office hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
In this position, you will:
Input, export, and modify information and data stored in computerized systems.
Interact in person, over the telephone, or electronically to assist with a broad range of requests for information.
Write, prepare, and proofread specialized correspondence, lists, reports which may include opioid reporting, and other standard office documents.
Tracking inventory and supplies for the Medical Examiner’s Office.
Assist with finance and accounting processes.
Adhere to and follow Hennepin County and Medical Examiner data governance policies and procedures.
Greet and direct internal and external customers at the front desk.
Explain requirements, policies, and procedures regarding Medical Examiner services.
Need to have:
One of the following:
Two years or more of full-time office clerical experience.
Completion of two years or more of post-high school education.
18 months or more of office clerical experience and completion of the Office Specialist Pathway Training program.
One year or more of office clerical experience and completion of the Human Services Pathway Training Program.
Nice to have:
Experience:
Working with accounts payable.
Creating spreadsheets and reports from exported data.
Utilizing Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, and Word)
Ability to:
Handle multiple problems and assignments simultaneously, and to work independently with minimal direction.
Proofread data, numbers, correspondence, and other written materials for spelling, grammar, and format accuracy.
Work in a fast-paced environment.
Effective customer service skills with the ability to conduct oneself professionally and handle sensitive/difficult issues in a tactful manner.
