Human Services Community Engagement and Outreach is seeking a Community Engagement Supervisor. This position provides supervision, and general support to a team of three. In this position you will perform a wide variety of duties including, giving work direction, leading program development and continuous improvement as well as general administrative tasks related to operations for Health and Human Services.
Location and hours:
This position is hybrid and will be performed both remotely, in the community, and on-site at a Hennepin County Service Center as job duties require. Work hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with some potential evenings and weekend hours. While this position is designated as hybrid, based on current requirements hires must reside in or relocate to Minnesota or Wisconsin.
In this position, you will:
Provide work direction to three employees that carry out tasks that support Community Engagement and Outreach.
Provide consultation to Health and Human Services line of business area representatives.
Support the development of the federated model of community engagement planning, tactics, and best practices.
Plan, organize, and supervise complex projects and provide ongoing consultation, coaching and expertise for internal and external collaborators and community partners.
Be familiar with and lead learning, guide practice with the International City/County Management Association (ICMA) 2 Public Participation Spectrum.
Lead a team to gather, coordinate, and distribute internal and external resources and information.
Assist team members with maintaining the Health and Human Services community engagement SharePoint page.
Participate in and provide support to the practitioner group of Community Engagement and Outreach.
Need to have:
One of the following:
Bachelor's degree or higher in public administration, business administration, or other field appropriate to the position and four or more years of experience in general administrative work relating to the management of departmental/organizational operations, change management, or in a specialty area appropriate to the position.
Eight or more years of experience in general administrative work relating to the management of departmental/organizational operations, change management, or in a specialty area appropriate to the position.

Experience:
As a lead worker or supervisor.
Navigating large complex system.
With new program development.
Developing and organizing large-scale community engagement initiatives.
Facilitating groups using participatory methods.
Engaging community-based organizations.
Working with multidisciplinary workgroups and teams.
Ability to:
Identify and work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders and support organizational effectiveness and talent management strategic priorities.
Use technology to facilitate virtual engagement activities (Microsoft Teams, Menti-meter, polling, Excel, etc.).
Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, including public speaking.
