Description
The Resident Services IT (RSIT) division within Resident Services department is seeking an IT Technical Analyst III to join their team. Members of this team work together to deliver technical support to customers in the Resident Services line of business and business partners. This position will work closely with IT staff and other business partners to create and support Resident Services infrastructure, hardware, technical equipment, and systems/applications/solutions for Resident Services. This work can involve developing and improving processes, establishing governance best practices, developing, and maintaining test environments and planning, translating business and technical requirements, testing applications, documenting, implementing, and troubleshooting IT solutions, supporting established security solutions, and managing relationships with vendors and consultants on IT related contracts.Current Hennepin County employees who refer a candidate hired into an open competitive position may be eligible for a $500 referral bonus. Location and hours:This position is hybrid and will be performed both on-site at the Government Center at 300 South Sixth Street, Minneapolis, MN 55487 and remote as job duties require. Work hours will be Monday through Friday, with typical hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with flexibility. While this position is designated as hybrid, based on current requirements hires must reside in or relocate to Minnesota or Wisconsin. New employees who are hired into remote or hybrid positions between January 2, 2022 to December 31, 2024, will receive $500 toward the cost of establishing consistent internet connectivity, payable upon completion of 6 months of employment.
About the position:This is a full-time, benefit earning position.
This position is internally classified as an Information Technology (IT) Technical Analyst - Level III. Click here to view the job classification specification. At this time, employees may be eligible to receive an additional cash merit of up to $2,246.99 that can be earned annually based on performance.In this position, you will:
· Serve as primary technical contact to our business partners for support issues around identified systems.
· Ensure consistent performance of critical IT systems enforcing, development or advising development of policies, guidelines, processes, and security roles.
· Provide insight, expertise, technical vision, and leadership on maintenance, troubleshooting and systems upgrade.
· Support the timely development of tools, reports, functions, and other features as requested by management that result in improved functionality and user experience.
· Recommend network, software, application, computer hardware, and service and system changes.
· In collaboration with others, troubleshoot technical issues and resolve problems relating to system, network, database and other large-scale systems and environments.
· Research new technologies and industry trends and provide direction and subject matter expertise to leadership on decision making for county owned and operated systems.
· Evaluate user needs, define technical problems, and work with other IT technical teams to determine solutions.
· Administer and support Elections, Service Centers, Examiner of Title departments with tickets on desktops, laptops, and servers including hands on troubleshooting.
· Collaborate and support other project team members such as business analysts, project managers, developer/technical analysts, and business partners to ensure business needs are analyzed, documented, and IT procedures are effectively implemented.
Need to have:
· One of the following:
o Eight years or more of information technology experience.
o Completion of approved IT Hennepin County internship and six years or more of information technology experience.
o Completion of five college/vocational technical technology courses and six years or more of information technology experience.
o Associate's/vocational/technical degree in computer science, management information systems (MIS), information technology or an approved information technology field related to the position and six years or more of information technology experience.
o Bachelor's degree in an information technology field and four years or more of information technology experience.
Nice to have:
· Certification in IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL), Azure, IIS Administration, CompTIA+ or other certifications related to the position.
· Experience:
o Providing end-to-end customer support ranging from identifying problems, troubleshooting, and debugging, system integrations and/or application implementation/upgrades.
o Working on projects that involve system integrations, data migration, and/or application implementation/upgrades.
o Supporting critical systems, researching, testing, implementing, onboarding, and supporting software and applications.
o Evaluating user needs, defining technical problems, and working with other IT technical teams to determine solutions.
· Knowledge of IT Infrastructure (i.e., servers, network, and security setup).
· Knowledge of installing, configuring, managing servers, computers (desktop, laptop, printers, scan devices), and vendor equipment.
