Description The Medical Examiner's Office is seeking an Information Technology (IT) Analyst II. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office provides death investigative and forensic autopsy services to Hennepin, Dakota, and Scott counties, as well as additional Minnesota and Wisconsin counties on a referral basis. We serve a population of over 1.7 million residents covering approximately 1,500 square miles. Our goal is to assist families, law enforcement agencies, and the legal system by determining a scientifically unbiased and logical cause and manner of death. The office is a National Association of Medical Examiners (NAME) accredited agency with a staff of board-certified forensic pathologists and an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) accredited forensic pathology fellowship program. Current Hennepin County employees who refer a candidate hired into an open competitive position may be eligible for a $500 referral bonus. For more information visit employee referral program.Location and hours: This position is hybrid and will be performed both onsite at the Medical Examiner facility, 14250 County Road 62, Minnetonka, MN 55345, and remote as job duties require. There is no public transportation to this facility. Work hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. While this position is designated as hybrid, based on current requirements hires must reside in Minnesota or Wisconsin. New employees who are hired into remote or hybrid positions between January 2, 2022, to December 31, 2024, will receive $500 toward the cost of establishing consistent internet connectivity, payable upon completion of 6 months of employment. At this time, employees may be eligible to receive an additional cash merit of up to $1,860.43 that can be earned annually based on performance. In this position, you will:
Support of Medical Examiner’s Information Technology (IT) operations, systems, technology and infrastructure.
Provide technical support and serve as subject matter expert for Medical Examiner specialized applications and equipment.
Implement and support software and hardware changes impacting an IT forward thinking business.
Administrate Medical Examiner core systems; like, case management, SharePoint, dictation, and external applications.
Work with and lead Medical Examiner staff on projects and initiatives with IT dependencies.
Represent the Medical Examiner and lead participation in enterprise level projects and initiatives.
Collaborate with internal and external IT resources and business partners in the delivery of IT solutions.
Provide some project management and business analysis oversight for Medical Examiner IT projects.
Participate as a subject matter expert to lead technology modifications that impact business processes that may include research and recommendations of new development or systems.
Need to have:
One of the following:
Four years or more of information technology experience.
Completion of approved Hennepin County IT internship and two years or more of IT experience.
Completion of five college/vocational/technical information technology courses and two years or more of IT experience.
Associate's/vocational/technical degree in a field listed below and two years or more of IT experience.
Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, management information systems (MIS), information technology or an approved information technology field related to the position.
Certification or ability to become certified in ITIL Foundations within 6 months of hire.

As a SharePoint Content Administrator (SCA).
Working with Power BI tools and application.
Administering and supporting multiple business applications and hardware.
Creating technical and business requirements for IT projects.
Managing customer's technical needs and expectations.
Working with vendors and third-party support.
Analyzing, evaluating and summarizing data; creating reports.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, including interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service and experience building effective collaborative relationships with all organizational levels of business and technical staff.
Ability to:
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, vendors, and IT resources.
Create documents and processes to communicate complex technical information at an appropriate level specific to the audience.
Prioritize work demands.
Communicate technical information to non-technical staff.
