OVERVIEW The Discipleship Administrative Assistant provides support for the ministries, volunteers, and programs under the umbrella of Discipleship at Wooddale. This is a part-time role for up to 28 hours per week. RESPONSIBILITIES Carry out administrative responsibilities for areas of Discipleship: LifeGroups, Community Groups, Bible Studies/Classes, Men’s Ministry, Midweek, 1:1 Discipleship, and Young Adults. Receive and respond to inquiries promptly. Organize and schedule meetings and appointments. Schedule rooms and organize details for classes and events. Coordinate with volunteer leaders for all aspects of Discipleship ministries. Manage Discipleship digital content. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree preferable. RESPONSIBILITES Partner with leadership to strategically align human resource processes and initiatives to the organizational culture, mission and vision of Wooddale Church Manage the talent acquisition process, which may include recruiting, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants as well collaborating with managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings. Implement and maintain new hire and termination procedures. Analyze trends in compensation and benefits; researches and proposes compensation strategies to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent. Create training programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees. Manage the design, implementation and administration of all wellness and benefit plans, including the annual open enrollment process. Administer all leave programs such as FMLA, accommodations, workers compensation, sabbatical or personal leaves. Maintain and update employee information within HRIS Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations and regularly review organizational policies. Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law. Develop relationships with leaders and employees that allow for ongoing communication about organizational needs and challenges and HR’s ability to find solutions. Lead and trains managers in human resources-related processes such as performance management and employee relations. Initiate proposed revisions/updates for Board of Elder approval and implements changes and clarifications to Wooddale Church employee handbook. Maintain compliance with ongoing background checks, maintaining a 3-year rotation for initiating checks. QUALIFICATIONS Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or equivalent experience 3-6 years Human Resources generalist experience preferably in a single person HR Department Proficiency with or the ability to learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software Experience working or volunteering in a Ministry environment highly desirable Experience working with all levels of an organization building relationships Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolution skills Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to influence without authority across the Church. Responsible for ensuring the Academy program is a warm, nurturing, safe and loving environment for each child.
