Job Responsibilities and Duties: (Percentages = priority and approximate time focus)
1. Operate all material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
2. Move and store Materials in a safe and organized manner, accurately and efficiently.
3. Pick Materials in a safe and organized manner, accurately and efficiently.
4. Ship and Distribute Materials in a safe and organized manner, accurately and efficiently.
5. Audit existing Materials in a safe and organized manner, accurately and efficiently.
Cycle count all “A” items quarterly
Cycle count all “B” items semi-annually
Cycle count all “C” items annually
6. Receive Materials in a safe and organized manner, accurately and efficiently.
7. Process inventory transactions accurately and efficiently.
8. Understand and maintain a culture of “lean action” within the department so that we live lean better than any organization.
Implement and maintain standards and processes that eliminate waste throughout the department.
Apply and utilize “lean tools” to permanently implement improvements
Institutionalize 5-S in all aspects of the department. (Sort, Straighten, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain)
9. Perform other work as assigned.
Qualification and Skill Requirements:
Prior Experience:
1-2 years of prior relevant experience in a manufacturing environment required.
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
Knowledge Requirements:
To be effective, this position requires specific knowledge of material handling processes and material handling equipment. Person needs to understand or be capable of learning receiving, storing, picking, moving, shipping and distribution processes. Position also requires an understanding of or the capability of learning auditing practices as it applies to cycle counting of materials. Basic math skills including counting, addition, subtraction, division and multiplication are required.
Licenses and Certifications: Forklift license is required and operators must be able to maintain certification.

Work Requirement:
This position may require some work hours beyond the normal workday based on the demands of the business cycle, customer volume of business, and specific sales efforts underway. It has a moderate to high demand for physical activity.
Physical Requirements:
This position requires:
Continuous (6 or more hours per day) bending, pushing, pulling, climbing stairs, reaching, lifting and grasping.
Continuous (6 or more hours per day) standing and walking.
Continuous (6 or more hours per day) talking, teaching, and repetitive motion, hand/wrist movement.
Sensory requirements: Good eyesight, normal hearing, and fluent in the English language.
Working Conditions:
Indoors, generally.
Will be exposed to various fragrances which at times may be at elevated levels.
Moving and lifting objects, sometimes 50 lbs. frequently.
Able to utilize stairways.
Able to respond and adapt to changes in the work environment.
Ability to work in a high paced work environment.
Capable of operating various motorized and non-motorized material handling equipment.
Computer literate with basic PC platform and understands basic office software including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
Knowledge of MRP / ERP and WMS systems a plus.
Work Schedule:
This position usually works for 8 hours during a shift. However, hours of work are flexible and will fluctuate based on the needs of the business and the customers. The job may require a maximum of 5-20 hours of work beyond the normal work-week schedule depending on work demands. The work hours can vary depending on customer requirements and staffing.
Technical Competencies:

Can maintain and grow technical knowledge and expertise. Can be accurate, precise and pay attention to detail.
Has a “working” knowledge of personal computer operation. Proficient at Microsoft Windows 2000 and Microsoft Office 2000 or higher.
Can read and write in English at a high school level.
Understands and can do basic math and algebra to create a spreadsheet report or produce a query.
Strong ability to decipher alpha-numeric numbering sequences related to item numbers and customer packaging requirements.
Can read and follow specifications.
